Easy Thanksgiving Cookies

Thanksgiving treats can be adorable, but some require serious decorating skills. Not these! They’re so easy my two-year-old helped make them—though he mostly just ate the Bugles, cookies, and M&M’s. His favorite? Bugles. Mine? All the M&M’s!

Thanksgiving Cookies are simple to make, just attach a Bugle to half a cookie and fill it with M&M’s. Just three ingredients! For extra stability, add frosting to hold the M&M’s in place, but pressing them into the Oreo filling works fine too.

Hope you love these as much as my toddler did. Happy Thanksgiving!

Ingredients

  • Golden Oreo Sandwich Cookies: Twist the cookies apart instead of pulling to keep the frosting intact for better sticking power in these Thanksgiving cookies.
  • Bugles: Pick ones that have a wide opening to hold more M&M’s.
  • Mini M&M’s: Press them firmly into the frosting or use extra Oreo filling to keep them in place.

How To Make Thanksgiving Cookies

  1. Take Apart Oreos: If a cookie breaks, use frosting to stick it back together while preparing your Thanksgiving cookies.
  2. Stick on Bugles: Press a Bugle into the Oreo frosting.
  3. Add M&M’s: Put bigger M&M’s at the bottom and smaller ones at the top to make it look full.
  4. Make Sure Everything Stays: If needed, use extra Oreo frosting or a little store-bought frosting to hold the M&M’s in place.

Leftovers

Thanksgiving Cookies

These adorable miniature cornucopia cookies are the fastest Thanksgiving edible craft treat! With just 3 simple ingredients and a few minutes to assemble, you’ll have the cutest little desserts to impress your guests.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 36 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 package (14 ounces) Golden Oreo Sandwich Cookies
  • 1 bag Bugles
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) mini M&M’s baking bits candies

Instructions

  • The ingredients don’t have specific amounts, as you’ll need to buy all those things anyway, and it depends on how many of the cookies come apart perfectly and how many Bugles look like cornucopias—you will likely have some leftover of both.
  • Separate the golden Oreo sandwich cookies and eat or save the side of the cookie with no frosting. I found the best way to separate the Oreos is by twisting the top off from the bottom.
  • On the side with the frosting, press a cornucopia-looking Bugle onto the cookie.
  • Press the mini M&M’s strategically in and around the bugle. Use extra frosting from cookies that didn't separate well if needed to get the M&M’s firmly placed on the cookies.
  • Alternatively, you can also use a tub of frosting if needed to pipe small amounts of frosting onto the M&M to get it very secure (I never found this necessary, but I also didn’t transport these to any gathering.)

This is the kind of thing that reminds me how lazy I am. These would never get made if it was up to me. I would just eat each part individually and try to convince myself they were mixing together all pretty like this in my stomach XD
